About

Hello, here’s where I put a face – and a name – to the assorted ramblings on this blog. So, without any further ado…

My name is Gabriella, I’m a recent English Literature postgraduate now living at home with Mother and Moomin (our four-legged-furry-friend-beast, also known as a chocolate working cocker). I relish a good jaunt around the endless fenland before coming home to an equally good book (or the BBC’s Pride and Prejudice, forever my favourite thing), a few more squares of my crochet blanket that has been underway for longer than I was expecting – highly motivated to crochet, less motivated to replenish yarn stocks – and yes, to complete the cliché, I might even do some baking.

Outside of my cosy-cottage home-life, you can probably find me in an exercise class, at the swimming pool, or pootling around on my bicycle – all of which are necessary to offset the mountains of nutella I shamelessly ingest on a bi-weekly basis (I plan on kicking this habit… soon…).

Just trying to find that little niche in the world in which to belong.

  1. I like watching the film adaption of Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightly. Do you prefer classic novels in general such as Jane Eyre, Vanity Fair, Mansfield House, Persuasion or do you prefer reading modern novels?

    • I actually enjoy both in equal measure, I love sensation novels and classic nineteenth century “boys’ fiction”, but one of my favourite authors is Angela Carter so I make sure to get the best of both worlds!
